N.M. Stat. § 61-12A-14
Expedited licensure by endorsement. (Repealed
effective July 1, 2028.)
A. The board shall grant a license to an applicant who presents a valid, unrestricted
license as an occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant in another
licensing jurisdiction and is in good standing with the licensing board of that licensing
jurisdiction. The board shall, as soon as practicable but no later than thirty days after an
out-of-state licensee files an application for an expedited license accompanied by
required fees, process the application and issue the expedited license in accordance
with Section 61-1-31.1 NMSA 1978.
B. If the out-of-state licensee was licensed in a jurisdiction that did not require
passage of the national examination for certification in occupational therapy, the board
may require the licensee to pass that examination to continue to be licensed in New
Mexico.
C. The board shall determine the other states and territories of the United States
and the District of Columbia from which it will not accept applicants for expedited
licensure and the foreign countries from which it will accept applicants for expedited
licensure. The board shall post the list of disapproved and approved licensing
jurisdictions on its website. The list of disapproved licensing jurisdictions shall include
the specific reasons for disapproval. The lists shall be reviewed annually to determine if
amendments to the rule are warranted.
