Falsifying an election document; penalty.
A. Falsifying an election document consists of knowingly circulating, presenting or
offering to present for the signature of another person a nominating petition that does
not clearly show on the face of the petition the name of the candidate, the date of the
election, the address at which the candidate resides, the candidate's county of
residence and the position on the conservancy district board for which the candidate
seeks nomination.
B. Whoever commits falsifying an election document is guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction shall be imprisoned in the county jail for a definite term of less than one
year or shall pay a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or both the
imprisonment and fine in the discretion of the judge.
