N.M. Stat. § 73-2-43
[Bridges across roads.]
Mayordomos of public and community ditches, shall construct to the cost of the
owners of said ditch, good and substantial bridges, made of lumber across all ditches
that shall be under their charge, as said mayordomos in all the crossings of public road
or roads.
