N.M. Stat. § 19-8-5
[Term of lease.]
Leases under this act [19-8-4 to 19-8-7 NMSA 1978] may be made for a term of ten
years or less and as long thereafter as said minerals, or any of them, in paying
quantities shall be produced from the leased lands.
