Bulletin No. 02-004 January 30, 2002 VALUATION OF INVESTMENTS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 681B OF NEVADA REVISED STATUTES The purpose of this bulletin is to further clarify 681B.160 and 681B.170 of the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS). Paragraph 4 of 681B.160 states, โ€œThe commissioner shall have full discretion in determining the method of calculating the values according to the rules set forth in this section.โ€ The Division of Insurance wishes to clarify this to mean that no such method or valuation shall be inconsistent with any applicable valuation or method then currently formulated or approved by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.โ€ For insurers to comply with 681B.170 of the NRS, no valuations under this section shall be inconsistent with any applicable valuation or method then currently formulated or approved by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.โ€ ____________________________________ ALICE A.
