Brucellosis.

1. The health authority shall investigate each report of a case having brucellosis to confirm the diagnosis and to identify the source of infection. 2. The health authority shall notify the Chief Medical Officer if the source of infection is suspected to be an infected animal. The Chief Medical Officer shall notify the Administrator of the Division of Animal Industry of the State Department of Agriculture (State Veterinarian) who shall immediately investigate the report and shall take all necessary measures for the prevention, suppression and control of the disease in animals. 3. The health authority shall notify the Chief Medical Officer if the source of infection is suspected to be occupational. The Chief Medical Officer shall notify the appropriate regulatory agency of any suspected occupational exposure.
