1. The health authority shall investigate each report of a case having varicella (chickenpox) to: (a) Confirm the diagnosis; (b) Determine the extent of any outbreak; (c) Identify any child care facility or school attended by the case; and (d) Obtain sufficient information about the case for surveillance. 2. A case having varicella (chickenpox) shall not attend a child care facility or school until all blisters have dried into scabs. The health authority shall instruct the child care facility or school attended by the case of necessary measures to prevent the further transmission of varicella (chickenpox).
