Circular Letter No. 3 (2002) January 25, 2002 TO: All Authorized Motor Vehicle Insurers and Insurance Producer Organizations RE: Motor Vehicle Liability and Collision Insurance Premium Reduction For Completion of an Accident Prevention Course Pursuant to Sections 2336 (a) and (d) of the New York Insurance Law STATUTORY REFERENCE: SECTIONS 2336 (a) and (d) OF THE INSURANCE LAW This Circular Letter updates and supersedes all earlier Circular Letters relative to this matter in order to advise motor vehicle insurers of all Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course sponsors now approved by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Information on these courses is not intended for distribution to the general public, but should be disseminated to the appropriate personnel at the insurer to ensure that credit is given for completion of any of these courses by an insured, meriting the same premium reduction as the publicly available courses.
