Rule 1501:47-2-36. Signals to attract attention

If necessary to attract the attention of another vessel, any vessel may make light or sound signals that cannot be mistaken for any signal authorized elsewhere in rules 1501:47-2-32 to 1501:47-2-36 of the Administrative Code, or may direct the beam of its searchlight in the direction of the danger, in such a way as not to embarrass any vessel. For the purposes of this rule, the term "embarrass" means to interfere with, in any way, the safe navigation of any vessel.
