SNAP waiver to exclude sugar-sweetened beverages

September 30, 2025 House Bill 96 - 136th General Assembly The director of job and family services shall submit a request to the United States department of agriculture for a waiver to exclude sugar-sweetened beverages as items that may be purchased in this state under the supplemental nutrition assistance program. If a waiver submitted under this section is not approved, the director shall resubmit a request for a waiver on an annual basis.
