Qualifications

(a)
Individuals selected for the nursing staff shall be qualified by
education and experience for the positions they are assigned.
(b)
The director of nursing shall make recommendations regarding the
selection
and
promotion
of
nursing
personnel
based
on
their
qualifications and capabilities and recommend the termination of
employment when necessary.
(c)
The qualifications required for each category of nursing staff
shall be in written policy and job descriptions and shall be available
for review.
(d)
The functions of nursing personnel shall be clearly defined in
written policies and procedures.
(e)
Verification of current licensure and credentials shall be
maintained in the personnel files or department of nursing.
