Validated examinations Examinations

(a) An applicant shall take and pass an validated examination that demonstrates that the operator
applicant has the necessary skills, knowledge, ability, and judgment as appropriate for the
classification. The applicant mustshall answer at least seventy percent (70%) of the questions
correctly on the validated examination. An applicant who does not receive a passing grade on the
validated examination mustshall wait a minimum of thirty (30) days to retake the validated
examination.
(b) Validated examinations shall be administered by DEQ or its designee at such times and places
as necessary.
(c) Examinations Validated examinations, answer sheets, and test scores are confidential and shall
not be disclosed to any person except the applicant. Proper identification may be required.
(d) An applicant determined to have cheated on an validated examination shall be deemed to have
failed the validated examination and shall be prohibited from applying for certification for a
period of twelve (12) months.
(e) DEQ may approve a designee to give oral validated examinations to Distribution and
Collection Technicians who are unable to take a written validated examination.
