(1) The current annual Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations provide requirements for the Southwest Zone. However, additional regulations may be adopted in this rule division from time to time and to the extent of any inconsistency, they supersede the current annual Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations. (2) Effective July 1 through November 30, the following regulations apply in the Mainstem Umpqua River from the visible tips of the jetties to the North and South Umpqua confluence, Mainstem Smith River (Douglas Co.) from the mouth to Spencer Creek, and North Fork Smith River (Douglas Co.) from the mouth to Johnson Creek: (a) The daily adult wild Chinook salmon bag limit is one fish in aggregate; and (b) No more than five adult wild Chinook salmon may be retained for the period in aggregate. (3) Effective May 12 through November 7, the following regulations apply to Lemolo Reservoir and Hemlock Lake. The daily limit of kokanee is 10 per day with no size limit. (4) Effective August 10 through November 30 angling for steelhead is closed in the North Umpqua River from the mouth to the marker below Soda Springs Dam. (5) All other permanent rules for the Southwest Zone, as stated in the current annual Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations, remain in effect.
