No. 9 "To Regulate the Marketing of Imported Bananas and Plantains
in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico", approved on May 3, 1961, to be
read as follows
"Section VIII-A.- - Exemptions
Lots of plantains imported to Puerto Rico by virtue of
the agreement for the commercial interchange of farm products on a
complementary basis signed by the Governments of the Commonwealth
of Puerto Rico and of the Dominican Republic are exempted from
compliance with the provisions of Sections IV and V, and of Subsection.C, Section VI of this Regulation. For each shipment of
plantains under said agreement a previous written authorization of
the Agricultural Services Administration of the Department of
Agriculture of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and of the Price
Stabilization Institute of the Dominican Republic shall be required.
The periods and amounts of plantains to be so imported shall be
established by proclamation of the Secretary of Agriculture of the
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico".
