for all cord sets, receptacles that are not a part of the permanent wiring of
the building or structure, and equipment connected by cord and plug are
installed and maintained in accordance with the applicable requirements of
Sections 210-7(c), 250-45, 250-59, and 305-4(d).
(1) The following tests shall be performed on all cord sets, receptacles
that are not part of the permanent wiring of the building or structure, and
cord- and plug-connected equipment required to be grounded.
a. All equipment grounding conductors shall be tested for continuity and shall be electrically continuous.
b. Each receptacle and attachment plug shall be tested for correct
attachment of the equipment grounding conductor. The equipment
grounding conductor shall be connected to its proper terminal.
c. All required tests shall be performed:
1. Before first use on the construction site.
2. When there is evidence of damage.
3. Before equipment is returned to service following any repairs.
4. At intervals not exceeding 3 months.
(2) The tests required in (1) above shall be recorded and made available to the authority having jurisdiction.
305-7. Guarding. For wiring over 600 volts, nominal, suitable fencing,
barriers, or other effective means shall be provided to prevent access of
other than authorized and qualified personnel.
ARTICLE 310 - CONDUCTORS FOR GENERAL WIRING
310-1. Scope. This article covers general requirements for conductors
and their type designations, insulations, markings, mechanical strengths,
ampacity ratings, and uses. These requirements do not apply to conductors
that form an integral part of equipment, such as motors, motor controllers,
and similar equipment, or to conductors specifically provided for elsewhere in this Code.
