Hoistway doors shall be provided with hoistway unit system hoistway door combination mechanical locks and electric contacts.
Exception: Hoistway door interlocks shall be
provided at landings where the bottom
of the door opening is less than
twenty four (24) inches above the
floor other than the followings:
(1) Undercounter dumbwaiters
(2) **Dumbwaiters not accesible to the general public where the load is handled
on wheel trucks.
(3) At landings where the landing sill is
within five (5) feet of the bottom of the
pit.
