Interlocks. Hoistway doors shall be considered to be in the closed position under the following conditions. 1. For horizontally sliding or swinging doors, or vertically sliding counterweighted doors: a. Only when the leading edge of the door is within four (4) inches of the nearest face of the jamb or when the door panels of bi-parting type doors are within four (4) inches of contact with each other, provided that: (1) The car is being operated USAS, A17.1 from within the car only.
