Se proveerá una placa de capacidad especial dentro del carro del ascensor, localizada en un lugar conspicuo, la cual llevará la frase "CAPACI- DAD PARA IZAR CARGAS INTEGRALES" y en letras seguidas por números señalando la capacidad especial en libras para izar cargas integrales para las cuales se ha diseñado la maquinaria. Para el material y tamaño de las letras vea la Regla 207.3c (1). f. La armazón del carro, su plataforma, poleas, ejes, cuerdas o cables y el dispositivo inmovilizador serán diseñados para la "Capacidad para Izar Cargas Integrales" especificadas, siempre que reúnan lo siguiente: - 78 - ENGLISH TEXT (1) In the design of the car frame, platform sheaves, shafts and ropes, the allowable stresses may be twenty (20) per cent higher than those permitted for normal loading. (2) The factor of safety for the locking device shall be not less than five (5). g. The car safeties shall be designed to stop and hold the specified "Capacity Lifting one-Piece Loads" with the ropes intact. h. Where there is an occupied space, or an unoccupied space not secured against unauthorized access (See Part 1, Section 109, Rule 109.1), under the hoistway, the following requirements shall be conformed to: (1) The machine shall be designed to operate with the "Capacity Lifting one- Piece Loads" at slow speed. (2) The car safety shall be designed to stop and hold the car with this load independently of the hoisting ropes. (3) The counterweight safety, where required by Part 1, Section 109, Rule 109.1, shall be designed to stop and hold the entire weight of the counterweight independently of the ropes. i. For traction machines, where necessary to secure adequate traction, additional counterweight shall be added during the period of use with one piece loads so that the total overbalance is at least equal to forty-five (45) per cent of the" Capacity Lifting One-Piece Loads". j. A special operating device of the car-switch or constant-pressure type shall be provided in the machine room, located near the driving machine to operate the elevator. When this device is operative all other operating devices shall be inoperative. (See Section 210, Rule 210.1c). 79 TEXTO EN ESPAÑOL (1) En el diseño de la armazón del carro, la plataforma, poleas, ejes y cuerdas, los esfuerzos unitarios permisibles podrán ser el veinte (20) por ciento mayor que los permitidos para cargas normales.
