Machinery or equipment shall be secured to and supported on or from the top of overhead beams or floors. Exceptions: (1) Secondary or deflecting sheaves of traction elevators. (2) Devices and their accesories for limiting or retarding car speed. (3) Securing bolts or fastenings are not required where sound isolation is used between bases of machinery or equipment and supporting beams or floors. - 102 - USAS, A17.1
