GENERAL

2701.1 Scope. The provisions of this chapter, NFPA 70 and the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority's Reglamento Complementario al Código Eléctrico Nacional (Complementary Code) shall govern the design, construction, erection and installation of the electrical components, appliances, equipment and systems used in buildings and structures covered by this code. The Puerto Rico Fire Code the and NFPA 70 shall govern the use and maintenance of electrical components, appliances, equipment and systems. The Puerto Rico Existing Building Code, NFPA 70 and the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority's Reglamento Complementario al Código Eléctrico Nacional (Complementary Code) shall govern the alteration, repair, relocation, replacement and addition of electrical components, appliances, or equipment and systems. In case of a conflict between the Complementary Code and the NFPA 70, the Complementary Code will prevail. 147
