I.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The purpose of this bulletin is to request data from insurers wntmg private passenger automobile
insurance in this state. In order to evaluate the private passenger auto insurance market in South Carolina,
the Department of Insurance is issuing a Data Call request to all writers of private passenger automobile
insurance in the state with more that $1 Million in direct written premiums in 2008. The data worksheet
that is required for submission is available on the Department's website at: www.doi.sc.gov or by clicking
here. The data must be submitted in the format as provided in the Excel spreadsheet. Please ensure
each page is marked "Proprietary Data, Confidential." Pursuant to the provisions of S.C. Code Ann. § 38-
13-160, replies to this special report request are confidential. If your corporate group consists of several
companies that write auto insurance in South Carolina, please submit data for each company separately.
Insurers must submit the data on Compact Disk (CD) via mail to:

The deadline for receipt of the data CD is November 30, 2009. This bulletin constitutes official notice
of the data call request.
