Fanner Director of Insurance RE: Expiration of Bulletin 2014-02 Emergency Insurance Declaration for South Carolina for Winter Stonn DATE: March 19,2014 On February 13, 2014, the Department of Insurance issued Bulletin 2014-02 pursuant to S. C. Code Ann. Reg. 69-1 pennitting non-resident adjusters to enter the state during the aftennath of the winter stonn to adjust claims. This Department detennined that an unusual circumstance existed whereby the licensure of temporary non-resident adjusters was necessary to ensure that adjusters would be available to assist with the evaluation and expeditious resolution of claims resulting from the winter stonn for South Carolina. The emergency situation that necessitated the declaration no longer exists. Accordingly, this bulletin is issued to notify impacted parties that, effective March 24, 2014, the emergency declaration that was issued via Bulletin 2014-02 will expire. Non-resident adjusters will no longer be able to enter the state without following the requisite state licensing procedures.
