A. Every apprentice applicant must meet the requirements of Section 54-15-100 of the 1976 Code and the Coast Guard requirements for citizenship, physical health, and general federal licensure as contained in 46 CFR 10.201-10.225 and 10.301-10.306. B. All apprentice applicants must certify and be prepared to demonstrate that they can swim unassisted for a distance of not less than 100 meters and can remain afloat unassisted for a period of not less than fifteen minutes immediately thereafter. C. Every applicant for apprenticeship must be a resident of the State of South Carolina.
