ARSD 44:76:11:14. Insulation

Boiler rooms, food preparation centers, and laundries shall be insulated and ventilated to prevent any floor surface above them from exceeding a temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29.4 degrees centigrade). All combustible insulation within the building shall be covered with a fire-resistive material giving fire protection equivalent to one half inch (0.01 meters) gypsum board, unless tested and acceptable by International Building Code, 2012 edition, 2603.4 for use without a thermal barrier as installed.
