ARSD 74:02:08:05.01. Preliminary risk assessment

The chief engineer may request a preliminary risk assessment. The preliminary risk assessment shall consist of an on-site inspection of the downstream area with a description of any structures and an elevation in reference to the stream channel bottom. The hazard classification is subject to approval of the preliminary risk assessment by the chief engineer. The preliminary risk assessment must be performed by an engineer as defined in this chapter.
