Establishment of county jail at expense of county

There shall be established and maintained in every county, by authority of the board of county commissioners and at the expense of the county, a jail for the purposes stated in this chapter, except as provided in § 24-11-3 . Source: SDC 1939, § 13.4602; SL 1963, ch 57.
