Purpose And Scope

(1) The Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development has the responsibility to develop and promulgate regulations which adopt occupational safety and health standards. The Commissioner may adopt the federal standards relating to the same issue. (2) This chapter carries out the directive to the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development under T.C.A. §§ 50-3-201 and 50-3-202. It adopts occupational safety and health standards which are the federal standards relating to the same issue, and state standards required for effective enforcement of the Act that are of a general or a specific nature in providing occupational safety and health protection.
