Standards Of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

(1) The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse shall comply with the standards for registered nurses as specified in 1000-03 and with the standards of the advanced practice registered nurse’s national specialty certifying body. Standards for a specific role/category and population focus of advanced practice registered nurses supersede standards for registered nurses where conflict between the standards, if any, exists. (2) Advanced Practice Registered Nurses shall practice within standards established by the Board in rule and assure patient care is provided according to the statewide standard of care recognized by the Board.
