Prescription Writing

(1) Prescription writing shall be governed by Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 63-19-107 and Title 53, Chapter 10, Part 2. GENERAL RULES GOVERNING THE PRACTICE CHAPTER 1130-01 OF A PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (2) A physician assistant authorized by his or her supervising physician to prescribe drugs shall complete a Notice of Authorization for Prescribing form, including the biographical information and formulary, and submit it to the following addresses: Committee on Physician Assistants Tennessee Board of Pharmacy 665 Mainstream Drive 665 Mainstream Drive Nashville, TN 37243 Nashville, TN 37243 (3) As required by T.C.A. § 53-10-104, a physician assistant may not accept the delegated authority to issue a prescription or dispense any drug or medication whose sole purpose is to cause or perform an abortion.
