Purpose

To establish uniform criteria for any person unable to meet the standards in Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration (FMCSA) 49 C.F.R. § 391.41, as adopted by the Department, to apply for a medical waiver
that, if approved, will authorize a person intrastate operation of a commercial motor vehicle by a person
with missing or impaired limbs.
