Rules concerning equipment and routes

The commissioner of transportation is authorized to promulgate rules not inconsistent with federal law: (1) Regulating the equipment required for vehicles as a condition to using the system of state highways to assure safety of motorists; and (2) Establishing particular highways upon which commercial motor vehicles may operate. Acts 1983, ch. 319, § 9; T.C.A., § 55-11-112.
