Home Bulletins 1998 B-0076-98 October 23, 1998 To:   ALL COMPANIES, CORPORATIONS, EXCHANGES, MUTUALS, RECIPROCALS, ASSOCIATIONS, LLOYDS, OR OTHER INSURERS WRITING PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE IN THE STATE OF TEXAS AND TO OTHER AGENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES AND THE PUBLIC GENERALLY Re:   Bulletin B-0076-98 regarding weather related events occurring on October 16-20, 1998 In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related event occurring on October 16-20, 1998, in the counties of Aransas, Atascosa, Austin, Bastrop, Bee, Bell, Bexar, Blanco, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, Comal, Dewitt, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Goliad, Gonzales, Grimes, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Hays, Jackson, Jefferson, Karnes, Kendall, Lavaca, Lee, Liberty, Live Oak, Matagorda, McLennan, McMullen, Milam, Montgomery, Nueces, Orange, Refugio, San Jacinto, San Patricio, Travis, Victoria, Walker, Waller, Washington, Wharton, Williamson, and Wilson is a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing. Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
