Home Bulletins 1998 B-0014-98 February 24, 1998 To:   ALL PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE COMPANIES AND TEXAS WINDSTORM INSURANCE ASSOCIATION MANUAL SUBSCRIBERS Re:   Commissioner's Order No. 97-1037 adopting new commercial rates for windstorm coverage written through the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. The 74th Texas Legislature amended Article 21.49, § 8 Texas Insurance Code to provide that not later than August 1 of each year, the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) shall file manual rates for commercial risks and classes of risks written by the TWIA with the Texas Department of Insurance for approval by the Commissioner. The Commissioner of Insurance, under Commissioner’s Order No. 97-1037, has adopted new rates for commercial risks for windstorm coverage written through the TWIA. The new rates reflect a three (3) percent decrease for all commercial risks and became effective January 1, 1998. The new rates are included with this bulletin.
