Home Bulletins Commissioner bulletins – 2023 B-0002-23 March 6, 2023 To:   All insurance companies writing automobile insurance in Texas Re:   Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association rates The Texas Department of Insurance has approved changes in the rates for private passenger and commercial automobile insurance for the Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association (TAIPA). The changes are effective June 1, 2023, for new and renewal business by Commissioner's Order No. 2023-7832 . The new rates represent an overall increase of 5% for both private passenger automobile and commercial automobile rates. For private passenger automobile and commercial automobile insurance, the new rates represent increases of: 5% for bodily injury liability, 5% for property damage liability, 5% for personal injury protection, 5% for uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury liability, and 5% for uninsured/underinsured motorist property damage liability rates.
