Home Bulletins bullet02 B-0022-02 April 17, 2002 To:   ALL COMPANIES, CORPORATIONS, EXCHANGES, MUTUALS, RECIPROCALS, ASSOCIATIONS, LLOYDS, OR OTHER INSURERS WRITING PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE IN THE STATE OF TEXAS AND TO OTHER AGENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES AND THE PUBLIC GENERALLY Re:   Regarding Weather-Related Events Occurring on 4/12-13/02 Determined a Catastrophe for Claims Processing In accordance with the Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), and 28 TAC 5.9303, the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related events occurring on April 12, 2002 through April 13, 2002, in the counties of Armstrong, Bowie, Carson, Cass, Clay, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Franklin, Gray, Grayson, Hood, Hopkins, Hunt, Hutchinson, Johnson, Kaufman, Lamar, Montague, Morris, Parker, Potter, Randall, Red River, Rockwall, Tarrant, Titus, Tom Greene, Wichita, and Wise are a catastrophe for the purpose of claims processing. Claims resulting directly from the above-defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
