SB 1702 allows certain structures that were canceled or nonrenewed by their voluntary market insurer to obtain coverage through TWIA. To provide coverage for these structures, TWIA must charge a premium based on the rate charged in the voluntary market for the portion of the canceled or nonrenewed policy that provided windstorm and hail insurance coverage, plus an annual premium surcharge of 10 percent. This data call is designed to gather information that will enable TWIA to set a premium for structures eligible for coverage under SB 1702, which is based on the rate charged in the voluntary market for windstorm and hail insurance coverage in the catastrophe area.
