Home Bulletins Commissioner bulletins – 2020 B-0032-20 July 7, 2020 To:   All issuers and administrators of health benefit plans, including health maintenance organization and preferred provider organization plans Re:   Balance billing data reporting Reporting Period: January 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020 The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) issues this mandatory data call under Insurance Code Section 38.004, which requires TDI to collect data related to balance billing on a quarterly basis from health benefit plan issuers and licensing boards. This first balance billing data call will cover all of 2019 and the first two quarters of 2020. Subsequent data calls will cover only one quarter at a time. Issuers must use the forms posted at this link . Responses to the data call are due no later than August 1, 2020.
