The new rates are to be used on policies issued on or after the effective date of the new key rate. Key rate changes effective August 1, 1996 will be listed separately with only the key rate information shown. To be eligible, risks must have telephones for communicating alarms to a responding fire department. Risks must be within ten miles over an all-weather road of a responding fire department. An eligible Class 2 risk has no requirement for water supply. A class 1 risk has a reservoir of 5000 gallons filled by well or other constantly available water source within 750 feet; or a National Standard three way fire hydrant connected to a six-inch or larger water main furnishing a sustained flow of 500 gallons per minute or more for 100 minutes with a residual pressure of 20 pounds per square inch. The hydrant must be within 750 feet of the eligible risk. The risk must be in the rural fire prevention district, but the responding fire department may or may not.
