2003 Long-Term Care Insurance Rate Guide

Home Bulletins 2003 Bulletins B-0004-03 January 24, 2003 To:   INSURANCE COMPANIES LICENSED TO WRITE LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE IN TEXAS Re:   2003 Long-Term Care Insurance Rate Guide This bulletin announces a call for rate information for the Texas Long-Term Care Rate Guide published by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). All companies currently writing long-term care insurance for new customers in Texas are required to respond to this request. The information collected through this data call will be published in a rate guide to allow consumers shopping for long-term care insurance to compare annual premiums for sample long-term care policies, as well as a policy that the carrier identifies as its "most popular" plan. You must provide the required information under authority of Section 38.001 of the Texas Insurance Code. The deadline for submitting rate information is February 19, 2003. Companies will enter their rates directly into a password-protected Web page on the TDI Web site. The Web address for the rate collection forms is https://www.tdi.state.tx.us/apps/asproot/s_cp_ltcrgcall/ltcrgcall.asp All rate information should be for rates in effect on the date the online data collection form is completed. The Web site provides detailed instructions on entering the requested information. Please remember that you are responsible for the accuracy of the data submitted.
