Submission of Rate Service Organization Informational Filings

Kiser, Utah Insurance Commissioner DATE: May 10, 2017 SUBJECT: SUBMISSION OF RATE SERVICE ORGANIZATION INFORMATIONAL FILINGS The purpose of this bulletin is to provide guidance to rate service organizations when submitting various reports and statistical information. In the past, rate service organizations have submitted various reports and statistical information to the Department via email. In an effort to streamline this process, rate service organizations are now required to submit these items via SERFF as an informational filing. This Bulletin does not apply to rate, rule and form filings that are required pursuant to Utah Administrative Code R590-225. To make an informational filing, the filer will need to complete the following: 1. The filer will need to enter a product name. 2. The filer will select Rating Organization as the Type of Insurance (TOI). 3. The filer will select from the following Sub-TOI's to identify what is being filed (filers may not select more than one Sub-TOI in a submission): Annual Statistical Submissions by Line Calendar Year Class Experience Summaries Change Tracking Guides Companies Participating for Lost Cost Service List Correspondence (other than Licensing/Registration) Current Members and Subscribers Lists Experience Yearly Reporting Fast Track Monitoring System Filing Authorization List State Office Building Suite 3110, Salt Lake City, UT 84114-6901 • (801) 538-3800 • Facsimile (801) 538-3829 • www.insurance.utah.gov Licensing/Registration Documents Miscellaneous/Other Reports Notice of Change to Constitution or General Rules Notice of Discontinuation of Member Notice of New Members Notice to Manual Holders Regulator Service Commitment Report Regulators Report on Carrier Data Quality Report of Company Certifications Not Filed During Year Statistical Plan/Report Verification of Statistical Data Monitoring System 4. The filing type is "Informational Only." 5. Attach the documents to the supporting documentation tab. 6. In order for these filings to be classified as protected, the filing will need to qualify as a protected record under Utah Code Ann. §63G-2-305, and the filer will need to follow the requirements of Utah Code Ann. §63G-2-309.
