WAC 246-215-05515. Facilities on the premises, materials, design, construction and installation — Receptacles (FDA Food Code 5-501.13)

(1) Except as specified in subsection (2) of this section, receptacles and waste handling units for refuse , recyclables, and returnables and for use with materials containing food residue must be durable, cleanable, insect- and rodent-resistant, leakproof, and nonabsorbent. (2) Plastic bags and wet strength paper bags may be used to line receptacles for storage inside the food establishment , or within closed outside receptacles.
