WAC 246-808-130. Temporary permits—Issuance and duration

(1) An applicant may request a temporary practice permit by submitting to the commission: (a) A completed application on forms provided by the department with the request for a temporary practice permit indicated; (b) An application fee and a temporary practice permit fee as specified in WAC 246-808-990 ; and (c) Written verification directly from all states in which the applicant has a license, attesting that the applicant has a license in good standing and is not subject to charges or disciplinary action for unprofessional conduct or impairment. (2) The commission shall issue a one-time-only temporary practice permit unless the commission determines a basis for denial of the license or issuance of a conditional license. (3) The temporary permit shall expire immediately upon: (a) The issuance of a license by the commission; (b) Initiation of an investigation of the applicant by the commission; (c) Failure to pass the examinations given by the commission; or (d) Three months, whichever occurs first. An applicant who has failed the examination must apply for and take the next examination for which they are eligible.
