6107-01 Veterinary hospitals or clinics Applies to: Businesses of state licensed practitioners engaged in the practice of veterinary medicine, dentistry, or surgery. This classification includes clerical office and sales personnel. Work activities include, but are not limited to: • Administering drugs and medicines; • Animal behaviors; • Clerical; • Dermatology; • Euthanasia; • Necropsies; • Routine checkups; • Sales; • Vaccinations. Usually veterinary services are performed on an outpatient basis, although animals may be kept on the premises for one or more days for observation or treatment. Veterinarians who specialize in the treatment of larger animals such as cows or horses frequently provide their services off premises rather than in their own facilities. Exclusion: • Animal boarding kennels, animal shelters, and/or pet grooming parlors are classified in 7308.
