WAC 296-307-36403. Installation and maintenance of flexible cords and cables

(1) Extension cords used with portable electric tools and appliances must be three wire and must be fitted with an approved grounding attachment plug and receptacle providing ground continuity. Exception: This does not apply to cords used with portable tools and equipment provided by an approved system of double insulation or its equivalent. (2) Worn or frayed electric cables are prohibited.
