WAC 296-307-48027. Low-pressure oxygen manifolds

Last amended: 2020Year: 2026Length: 175 wordsOfficial source
This section applies to cylinders with a maximum DOT service pressure of 200 psig. (1) Manifolds must be of substantial construction suitable for use with oxygen at a pressure of 250 psig. They must have a minimum bursting pressure of 1,000 psig and must be protected by a safety-relief device that will relieve at a maximum pressure of 500 psig. Note: DOT-4L200 cylinders have safety devices that relieve at a maximum pressure of 250 psig (or 235 psig if vacuum insulation is used). (2) Hose and hose connections subject to cylinder pressure must meet the requirements of WAC 296-307-48049 . Hose must have a minimum bursting pressure of 1,000 psig. (3) The assembled manifold including leads must be tested and proven gas-tight at a pressure of 300 psig. The fluid used for testing oxygen manifolds must be oil-free and not combustible. (4) The location of manifolds must meet the requirements of WAC 296-307-48025 . (5) The following sign must be conspicuously posted at each manifold: Low-Pressure Manifold Do Not Connect High-Pressure Cylinders Maximum Pressure—250 PSIG
