(1) The employer must ensure that a welder or helper working on platforms, scaffolds, or runways is protected against falling by using railings, safety belts, life lines, or other equally effective safeguards. (2) Welders must place welding cable and other equipment so that it is clear of passageways, ladders, and stairways.
