WAC 296-78-820. Air hoists

(1) To prevent piston rod lock nuts from becoming loose and allowing rods to drop when supporting a load, lock nuts must be secured to piston rods by a castellated nut and cotter-pin. (2) A clevis, "D" strap or other means must be used to prevent the hoist cylinder becoming detached from the hanger. (3) All air hoists must have their rated capacity posted on both the hoist and the jib or rail.
