(1) The stabilization, assessment, and intervention facility (SAIF) must implement occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) universal precautions to limit the spread of infections when: (a) Providing client services; (b) Cleaning the facility; (c) Washing laundry; and (d) Managing infectious waste. (2) SAIF must: (a) Have an infection control policy; (b) Provide staff with the supplies necessary for limiting the spread of infections; (c) Restrict a staff person's contact with clients when the staff person has an illness that is likely to spread in the course of service delivery; and (d) Report communicable diseases as required under chapter 246-100 WAC.
