WAC 110-147-1490. What are the requirements for volunteers working directly with children?

These volunteers must meet the licensing requirements listed in this chapter, including meeting the qualifications for case aide staff, and must: (1) Be at least 21 years of age, unless they are between 18 and 21 years of age with an internship or practicum program as per WAC 110-147-1460 (2); (2) Be supervised at all times by at least one paid staff member or a designated volunteer meeting the qualifications of a program manager, working on-site. Volunteers meeting program manager qualifications may provide direct care unsupervised; and (3) Receive preservice training that addresses the needs of the population of children in care.
