WAC 16-465-030. Handling and shipment of official samples

(1) A sample shall consist of a minimum of three to five tubers and/or affected stems or root systems. (2) Lower stems and root systems shall be placed in a dry plastic bag for transportation. (3) Affected tubers shall be wrapped in dry newspapers and placed in a box. (4) Official sample and reporting form delivered to the state plant pathologist for diagnosis will be in a container sealed with a Washington state department of agriculture seal. (5) Keep sample cool and deliver promptly to the state plant pathologist designated by the Washington state department of agriculture.
